To my immense frustration and thanks to Time Warner, the World Worst Internet Provider, I lost my net access again over the weekend. Regular readers may recall that a similar outage a few weeks back kept me from participating in another planned online activity. Between the regular outages (we have had to schedule service techs out to our place 15 times in four months,) the constant need to make phone calls to a terrible customer service (40+ times in four months,) and the fact that said customer service has been far from satisfactory (Time Warner policy is apparently that the customer is not allowed to speak to a supervisor if they’re not happy with the service, and the reps themselves feel free to hang up on customers,) I’ve decided that the ‘service’ that I am paying for and not getting is not worth the frustration. So I have finally dropped them and will be going with another (DSL) provider. Bandwidth will not be quite as high, but if the thing works more than half the time, it’ll be a net gain.
